Default 91-94 coolant temp sensor

recently, i have swapped some stuff on my B13 SE-R with some upgrades and what not, and in that swapping i had to change the lower portion of the intake manifold which had the coolant temp sensors still in them, now before the parts swap both engines, both USDM, read normal temeratures both on the guage and with Consult (for those who dont know, a nissan scan tool). but now after the swap the Consult sensor reads right but the one for the guage does not, it pegs over hot really quickly, and when driving down the road at a high rate of speed it will fluctuate somewhere near the H, but when idling it starts to go high, then will fall back down. when this guage is pegging way past H the coolant temp sensor with Consult reads about 188, when at 190 the fans kick on, so i know the ECU temp guage is doing its job. does anyone know if there is any difference in the sensors at all, i would much rather not try to get my hand and tools down there to change the sensor, if i dont have to.

oh and some information, the sentra is a 93, and the NX that the intake along with sensor came off of is a 91.

Those are symptoms of a bad sensor, or bad grounds, but the gauge sensor is a case ground. I think you're stuck changing it out sir.

do you think it may be due to the T block spacers?

Nope, I havent heard of anyone else having problems with them. You got a bad sensor.

You may have bent the spade a little bit and that is messing with the readings. I thought it may be the spacers, but its unlikely.

If you have a jdm sensor it will cause this issue. Use the us sensor. I remember when I did my swap I had the same issue. The restriction or voltage readouts are way different. Hope this helps.

That happens all the time, there are 2 sensors in teh manifold correct? One is going to be reading to consult and the other is for the cluster gauge. You have to get the correct one for your application. There is a bunch of info on another forum about this scenario and I have encountered it many a times myself swapping from hiport to loport motors and between years as well. Unless I misread your post completely wrong this should hopefully clear it up.

you and luke both read wrong, they are both USDM and both highport. for some reason the sensor out of the NX read fine in the NX but not in my sentra, so i took the sentra's old one out of the other intake, and put it back in the sentra and now all is good.

I think there are different part numbers for those between chassis possibly or maybe it was just bad?
